Each year, as part of the World Emoji Awards, we crown various new and upcoming emoji, but what about those we’ve been happily using for many years? Well, that’s where the Lifetime Achievement award comes in.

It’s awarded to some of the most popular and significant of all the emoji that we see across our texts and social messaging every day, whether old or new.

For the 2022 Lifetime Achievement award, we’ve imparted the honour one of the most enduring emojis there is: the ❤️ Red Heart.
